Date extended for photo/video film competitions Any one could participate in the photography and short film competitions organised on the eve of the Police commemoration Day celebrations slated for October 21st.
Announcing the extension of the last date for all entries for the photo and short film contestants on the theme of (people friendly policing ' Role of police in social activities) up to October 13 the Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma said that the Police system was part and parcel of the society and have been a major stake holder in all development and nation building activities.
The DGP highlighted the pivotal role played by the Telangana police in various programs like Godavari Pushkaralu, Mission Kakatiya, Swachch Telangana, Swachch Hyderabad, Harita Haram, Gram jyoti etc .'Telangana police have also adopted several villages for all round development under these programs and hence they should be blessed with the whole hearted support and participation by the society 'he said.
The DGP said that both the photo and short films should be focused on the services rendered by the police to the society. The photographs should be of 10x12 'size and the short films should of good resolutions and clarity. The entries from the districts should be submitted to the local SPs and the entries of Hyderabad/ Cyberabad should be sent to the Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad and Cyberbad.
Anurag Sharma said at the district level the best photograph and video films will selected by a committee of juries and will get a first prize of Rs.10,000, Second best would get Rs.5000 and Rs. 3000 for the third best. There will also be a special prize of Rs.1000 each for five special jury in two categories each.
All the entries will be pooled at the state level where another committee of juries will select and award Rs. One lakh for the best photograph and best video short film and Rs.50,000 for the second best and Rs.25,000 for the third best entries. Under the special jury selections, five photographs and five short films will get consolation prizes of Rs.5000 each in both sections.
He said the prize distribution for all the winning entries of photographs and short films will be made at the function got up for Police commemoration Day celebrations on October 21.
He once again appealed that all enthusiasts of police welfare activities and police service in people oriented programs should participate in the program.
