TS Govt admits of less spending of SC, ST Sub-Plans Hyderabad, March 13 (INN): The Telangana Government has admitted of less spending of funds allocated under the Sub-Plans for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
In his reply to a question raised by MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah during Question Hour in State Legislative Assembly on Sunday, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who is also holding the portfolio of SC Welfare, informed that an amount of Rs. 8089.24 crore were allocated during 2015-16 under SC Plan. However, an amount of Rs. 3773.33 Crore or 46.65% have been spent as on March 8. Similarly, of Rs. 5035.68 Crore allocated under ST Sub-Plan, only Rs. 2,671.67 Crore (53.06%) have been spent. He said as many as 48.98 lakh SCs and 15.38 lakh STs were benefitted from the Sub-Plans.
For SCs, an amount of Rs. 83.89 Crore was spent so far for community purpose and Rs. 587.65 Crore was spent on Non-Division works like Transport, Irrigation and Energy sector. Similarly, Rs. 166.35 Crore were spent for community purpose for STs in the State.
