Hyderabad Metro Rail gets delayed till Dec 2018 Hyderabad, May 4 (INN): The Hyderabad Metro Rail will be operational only by December 2018.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, HMRL Managing Director M.V. Gadgil said that the project, which was expected to become operational by July 2017, was getting delayed due to several obstacles in executing the works. He said there were difficulties in grounding some civic works for the project. He said deliberations were on with regard to Metro Rail Project route in the Old City. He said works on MGBC-Falaknuma stretch would begin after getting State Government's nod. He said that the Miyapur-SR Nagar corridor is expected to be ready by July this year.
Gadgil said that the State Government has been briefed about the delay in executing the project.
