Transport Minister vows to turn RTC profitable Hyderabad, May 30 (INN): Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy on Monday reiterated his resolve to turn Telangana State Road Transport Corporation into a profitable organisation.
He was speaking after laying foundation stone for expansion of Chevella Bus Station in Ranga Reddy district. He said that the RTC plans to construct commercial complexes at all bus stations on the lines of Vadodara in Gujarat State. He said despite operating in losses, the RTC has been taking measures to expand its network and fleet. He said RTC bus connectivity would be provided to all villages in Telangana State. He said that the corporation was purchasing 280 new buses at a cost of Rs. 150 crore.
RTC Chairman S. Satyanarayana and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
