CLP demands 15-day Assembly session Hyderabad, Aug 29 (INN): The Telangana Congress Legislature Party on Monday demanded that the State Government hold the Assembly session for at least 15 days to discuss the issues of public importance.
Briefing the media persons after three-hour long meeting, CLP Secretary T. Rammohan Reddy and Whip A. Sampath Kumar said that the Congress Legislature Party had held detailed discussions on several issues. They condemned the State Government for its reported decision to hold the session only for one day to ratify the GST Bill. They said that the session should be conducted for at least 15 days.
Rammohan Reddy said the government should hold discussion in Assembly on farmers suicide, crop loan waiver, drought conditions, fee reimbursement, Eamcet-2 paper leakage case, irrigation pact with Maharashtra, formation of new districts, disqualification of legislators who defected to TRS, 12% reservation for Muslims and STs in view of submission of reports by Sudhir Commission and Chellappa Commission and encounter of gangster Nayeem.
The Congress leaders alleged that the TRS Government was avoiding debate on crucial issues. They also informed that the CLP has demanded CBI enquiry into the cases pertaining to gangster Nayeem. They said names of several TRS leaders have cropped who reportedly had connections with the slained gangster.
The said that the CLP would demand 15 day session in the BAC meeting to be held on Tuesday.
The CLP has also paid rich tributes to former MP D. Vittal Rao who passed away recently.
