New Secretariat to meet growing needs: TRS MLC Hyderabad, Oct 24 (INN): TRS on Monday rebuked the Opposition allegations that the state government was wasting money in the name of building new Secretariat.
Speaking to media persons, MLC and TRS leader K Prabhakar said that the Opposition allegations were false and that the state government was aiming at public convenience by building new Secretariat.
The TRS MLC said that the existing Secretariat building was of Nizam's era and was insufficient to the present needs. He said that the visitors were facing severe inconvenience due to insufficient parking space and other amenities. He alleged that the Opposition parties are wary of the development works undertaken by the state government and were trying to find fault with the government's works every now and then.
Prabhakar said that the KCR government was working for the all round development of the state but the Opposition parties were jealous of the same and were creating hurdles in the same.
Taking a dig at the Congress allegations that the TRS government was killing democracy in the state, the TRS leader said that it was strange to hear from the Congress leaders speak on the democracy and its ideals. It was Congress which imposed Emergency in the country and infringed upon the democratic rights of the people and imposed restrictions on the media. Congress is known for violating democracy, the TRS MLC said.
