Will follow Tripura model to improve literacy: Kadiyam Hyderabad, Dec 6 (INN): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Tuesday said that the TS government would follow the Tripura model of education to achieve new heights in literacy.
The Deputy CM, who is on a visit to the North-Eastern state, informed the media as he wound-up his three day visit. Tripura has a literacy rate of close to 97 per cent.
Kadiyam visited various villages the state to study the success of literacy programme initiated by their government. He said that that the state of education in the state was commendable and added that he would discuss the literacy programme implemented in Tripura with his cabinet colleagues. He said that Telangana would take the help of resource persons from Tripura education department to develop literacy programmes and education in TS which has a literacy percentage of 66 as per 2011 Census.
