Protesting Woman Inspector faces probe Hyderabad, May 16 (INN): The woman inspector, who was caught on camera holding a placard opposing Dharna Chowk during the Left parties' protest on Monday, has been withdrawn from duties with immediate effect and an enquiry has been ordered against her.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) D Joel Davis on Tuesday said that two protest programmes were organized at Indira Park, Dharna Chowk on Monday by the Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee and the local residents who are residing near Dhara Chowk. As a part of bandobust duties, apart from uniformed police Mufti Police Men/Woman were deployed at the venue.
'Lake PS Inspector K. Sreedevi was drafted for surveillance duty in civic to watch over any anti-social elements at Dharna Chowk. It has come to our notice that during the bandobust that Inspector Sreedevi was found holding a placard among the protestors. An enquiry has been ordered for taking further following action in this regard, the DCP said.
Pending enquiry she has been withdrawn from the duties of Lake Police with immediate effect and attached to the Central Zone Control Room.
