AP on High Alert for Cyclone Phethai Vijayawada and Kakinada: Government of Andhra Pradesh is on high alert and working on all measures to reduce the damage from Cyclone Phethai. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Phethai is expected to make landfall near Kakinada on Monday afternoon.
The deep depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclone and is expected to make landfall between East Godavari-Northern Coast region of AP. RTGS is constantly tracking the movement. Citizens are requested to stay alert and take precautions, said Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. He is reviewing the situation with officials constantly.
