Slapped by director, Actress hospitalised
Tamil film director Kalanjiyam has been in the news lately for Anjali episode. The director has been urging the Film chamber to ban the actress for not cooperating with shoot of his upcoming directorial venture. Now the director is in the news once again after a heroine has been admitted in hospital after receiving a tight slap from him.
Kalanjiyam is currently acting in a film titled Kangaroo which is directed by Samy of Mirugam fame, Kalanjiyam was supposed to enact a scene where he would give a tight slap to heroine Priyanka who plays his sister in the film. While filming this scene, Kalanjiyam accidently hit her really hard and the actress Priyanka fell and sustained injuries.
The actress was then rushed to a nearby hospital. Prior to the shoot, Both Sri Priyanka and Kalanjiyam rehearsed for the slapping sequence. However, the actor mis-timed the shot and fainted as the slap landed close to her ear when she felt with injury.
Not only that the doctor who is treating the 19-year-old actress has issued a certificate that working with him again might result in her 'developing psychosis'.
'The last two days, she has developed palpitations, dehydration, vomiting and sleeplessness. I find her very anxious, fretful and depressed. This is after she had an episode of violent slaps from a colleague on set in Sankarankovil,' Dr Balaji Baskaran of Noble Hospital in Purasalwakam said in his medical note.
It is said that neither Kalanjiyam nor director visited the hospital. However Kalanijiyam has said that the issue had been blown out of proportion by the media.
