Welcome to #NueSlam, India's first Slam Channel! Another exciting initiative produced by Nue Records.
‘Chalke Kya’ by Viru Dada is the first of its kind desi slam/beat poetry. 'Viru Dada' is bothered about day-to-day issues concerning lifestyle, women, safety, entertainment, etc. 'Chalte Kya' aims to highlight simple and everyday issues that affect the 'Mango People' in a tongue-in-cheek, satirical manner.
Produced by Nue Records, the video is directed, photographed and edited by Viren Thambidorai and original soundtrack is composed and performed by Navdeep Singh.
‘Chalte Kya’ is Viru Dada's satirical protest against the stark reality behind the leering of an auto-driver through his rear view mirror. A subtle sexual harassment of the "stealthy kind" that has created a wave of mindsets that has probably encouraged more serious offences.
Changing mindsets is all about dealing with what exists at the grass root level. And that's what Viru Dada's latest slam poem is about. ‘Chalte Kya’ is inspired by real life incidents of young women's experiences with the 'Auto-Jaani Syndrome.
Viru Dada keeps it naughty-cheeky, in a wake-up-shake-up, rock-it-sock-it style that brings humor, and at the same time hands us a mirror to real life.
