| watching telelvision used to be fun.Nowadays i feel pity that private television channels believe that showing film based programmes and those crapy serials(you can hear same voices in almost any serial) are the only modes of entertainment that they can provide.I dont think they know that there are other forms of entertainment apart from cassette releases,100 day functions and socalled domestic violent serials.Its hard to believe that these are the same people who liked serials like,tenali ramakrishna and bhojaraj kadhalu to malgudi days and bharat ek khoj to name a few.I dont believe a censorship to television is a better solution for this as people want to see these kind of serials and thats y they are making it.Change shoud come from the makers and more imp. from the viewers.

I appreciate your initiative regarding this important topic.
Let us go to our olden days, where subjects like 'Moral instruction'were being taught. Where are such things today?
Earlier, KNOWLEDGE WAS POWER. Today, POWER IS KNOWLEDGE. It can be money power, muscle power, lung power, caste power & so on.
One cause I find for this is that most of the people of one generation were a confused lot
and started deviating from traditional values.
What is that they can pass on to the next generation?
Today, if anybody preaches and practises 'Simple Living & high thinking' he is considered to be a fool.
Wise men convert money into happiness. Today we find many people converting happiness into money!
In one famous Telugu serial, an arrogant wife (age 45 plus) slaps her husband, as he started entertaining the 'opposite camp, viz. daughter-in-law's people!'
It is a pity that most of the women folk are glued to such TV serials! What a pity that such a cheap entertainment is attracting many housewives!
Devilish ideas breed devilish deeds only.
I think that traits like compassion, respect for elders (husband too if he is not undeserving), simplicity, appreciating a way of life devoid of MATERIALISM etc. must be introduced in Primary schools compulsorily. This may be one remedy.
Censorship of films & TV programmes must be put
under the supervision of people who are really 'impartial' and above 'petty-mindedness'.
A beginning should be made.
Better late than never!

I HAVE WRITTEN NUMBER ARTICLES IN ANDHRA PRABHA AGSINT THESE SERIALS. I QUOTED SEVERAL TIMES IN VARIOUS ARTICLES. TILL DATE, JUST ONE ORGANISATION IN VIZAG HAD RESPONDED. NO ONE ELSE!

This is really a burning problem in the society.
But I feel sorry that there is no proper response to this kind of agitation. Why? People at one phase condemn such serials and at another phase I presume are adicted to them. However, I suggest that better name the serials which are of that type. Here I do not hesitate to mention one serial ENDAMAVULU. I remeber when I left India in Dec 2002, this was being telecast every week and now after i returned to India in 2004, I still find the same. Like wise, there is another serial called KALAVARI KODALU. Everyday when I wanted to see some cinema, some body or other come and ask us to tune Gemini or ETV. Occassionally I happened to observe them, and what an unnatural sequences (to my knowledge) are aired in those serials.
Friends! It is high time Telugu viewers tolerated and please name all such serials and let the organisation in Visakhapatnam take suitable action to bring to the notice of concerned Government officials. Mr. Vachaspathi! Why not you bell the cat? I hope youth can tackle better than old people like us. So go ahead and best of luck

The basic idea / objective / aim / target of media is business. One should never forget that ofcourse inturn they offer awareness ( not education) and entertainment.
This discussion is another mode of getting promoting for the media to create some change to keep / maintain enthusiasm.
Lokk at this case for instance. Both TV and news paper are media only. What they do? They support each other by involving two different groups in the discussion there by it improves it's publicity.
It is a fact that media is a business concern.
