The Telugu Association of Southern California (TASC) celebrated the Virodhi Nama samvatcharam on April 11th 2009 at the Excelsior High School in Norwalk, CA. Around 700 people took part in these grand celebrations and were welcomed at the door with a traditional serving of ugadi pacchadi. All the attendees were provided with sumptuous indian food by Dosa Place in Tustin.
The program began with a lamp lighting ceremony by the Grand sponsor Mr Lakshman Koka and family who were accompnied by the Executive Board. The cultural events started with a heart warming rendition of Sri Gana Nadhuni followed by a Kuchipudi dance number Ramayana Sabdham. The program saw spirited dance performances on the latest songs from the children who bought the audience to their feet with their youthful exuberance and enthusiasm. Short plays were followed by a fashion show and a medley of other song and dance numbers like
