November 7, 2004 Trafalgar Square was transformed with a dazzling display of lights and lotus lanterns floating in each of the fountains to celebrate its fourth annual Diwali. It saw a host of stars, dancers and politicians get in the festive mood for the occasion, while a magnificent model of the Hindu God, Ganesh was placed on stage to watch over the celebrations. Indeed the atmosphere was passionate yet composed, allowing people of all ages to celebrate Diwali together safely,30,000 people turn out to celebrate Diwali in Trafalgar Square.
