| In a dastardly act Telugu Desam Party Penugonda MLA Paritala Ravindra and his armed body guard Eeswariah has been shot dead by four unidentified youth in a broad day light today (monday) at Anantapuram town. A few others following Ravi bore the bullet injuries, fired indiscriminately by the miscreants, are being treated at Anantapuram goverment hospital.
Ravindra after attending TDP district general body meeting came out of the party office along with his personal security and a few followers in Anantapuram at 2.55pm on Monday. While Ravi's personal security men had thrown a cordon around leading him to his vehicle, parked a few yards out side the party office premises, two unidentified youth following him in the guise of tdp activists, suddenly started firing at the ground. People including Ravi got panicked after hearing the shots but even before Ravi realised to know what is happeneing around him, the two youth fired at him from a close range. Meanwhile two more pistol wielding youth appeared on the scene and fired at Ravi's gunman Eeswariah killing him. Later on the duo continued the firing aiming Ravi, who already fell to the ground hit by the bullets. To ensure Ravi's death the two youth fired at him from point blank range casuing injuries into his eyes, head and chest.
The four assailants ran into different directions even before the panicked tdp cadre came to terms to realise what happened to their beloved leader. Ravi and his gunman's bodie lay shattered on the main road. It was all over in a few minutes. Other TDP leaders who attended the meeting rushed out from the party office after hearing the gun shots and shell shocked to see Ravi laying in a pool of blood. The meeting, along with Ravi, was attended by senior party functioneries like Kala Venkata Rao, Sobha Nagi Reddy.
Ravi's murder has sent shock waves in the TDP cadres through out the state. As soon as Ravi murder news has been flashed on the television channels tdp cadres came out on the streets and staged improptu dharnas and rasta rokos all over the state. Chief Minister YS who is on a whirl wind tour of Visakhapatnam district condemned Ravi's murder and promised to order a judicial enquiry.
Irate TDP cadres had resorted to voilence in many places of the state. News of voilence has been reported from various district head quarters. The entire state is in the grip of tension. Police clamped prohibitory orders at several places to quell the voilence. Even in Hyderabad incidents like burning of RTC buses has been reported around the city. RTC has withdrawn services throwing normal life out of gear. TDP supremo Chandra Babu expressed deep shock over Ravi's murder and called it a heinous act. This is the height of the anarchist rule in the state he said. TDP will never let this government absolved of these heinous crimes and it would fight the government Babu pledged.
