Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley (TAGDV), PA
is all set to host 12th Annual North America Telugu Cultural Competitions
and Ugadi Celebrations on Saturday, 30 April 2005 from 10AM to 9PM
at Arcola Intermediate School, 4000 Eagleville Rd, Norristown, PA 19403
Telugu cine star Smt. Jayasudha will be the cheif guest of the occassion.
It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the competitions which will be held in the categories of
1. Singing (Folk or light songs)
2. Dance:
Classical [Solo],
Folk [Group],
Movie [Solo],
Movie [Group]
3. Play (Drama): Comedy, Historic or Mythology
4. Anthakshari
Registration forms are available on the web, www.tagdv.com
Rules & General Information:
1. The registration form should be sent along with a non –refundable $ 10 participation fee per person per category.
Forms with out the checks are invalid. If the event is canceled by the Cultural committee the participation fee is refunded.
2. Please make the check payable to “TAGDV” and in the memo please write the participant's name.
3. All the registration forms and checks should be mailed to Raveendra Chitluru, 8128 Cross Creek Circle, Breinigsville, PA 18013. No film songs are allowed in the singing competitions . Light music or folk songs are allowed. Time limit 4 minutes.
5. For dance competitions, no participant can take part more than once in the same category or more than once in the same age category . Only one group and one solo are allowed per participant.
6. The oldest participants age determines the category level of that group.
7. Classical dances should not exceed 8 minutes and folk and movie dances group or solo have 5 minutes time limit.
8. All the participants for the plays are responsible to get any necessary props or decorations.
9. Plays cannot exceed 45 minutes including introduction and finale.
10. Any participant in any category exceeding the time limit will be disqualified and their item or play disqualified.
11. The decisions of the Judges and the cultural Committee is final. We reserve the right to change or cancel any rule
without notice.
12. Dance and Singing categories with less than 3 applicants will be canceled. Any participant missing the allotted time will not get another chance at a later time. Time regulations are strictly enforced.
