Articles: Philosophy | You are alone before birth and after death - Mrs. sharmila Sanka

A child is born not with wealth or fame but with an invisible garland of karmas of his past incarnations. He is born all alone with no company. He cries as soon as he breathes outside of his mother’s womb of protection. He cries with the sorrow of being born in this world. The moment he is released, he is one with the materialistic world. He entangles himself in the whirlpool of ‘Life.’ From the time of his first breath on this earth plane, his actions, thoughts and words count in the form of Karmas. As a child, unknowingly he makes mistakes sometimes under the very guidance of elders. Underestimating him as a little child, elders with all knowledge help him make mistakes not realizing though little, a child builds his character. As he sees, so he becomes. As he is guided, so is his behaviour. As is his behavior, so is his destiny. As is his destiny, so is his incarnation. As is his incarnation, so is his re- incarnation. Thus little thoughts make up his life and after life. Elders ought to take utmost care to mould his behaviour from his childhood onwards and not when he is grown. Once he is grown there is no moulding of character; there will be only hard lessons to learn.
The little child grows along with his sorrow and happiness and craves to be in a pleasing company. He strives to make innumerable friends and compromises with them many a time. Sometimes he even moulds himself as per their wish and sojourns downwards on the path of hierarchy of humanity of human values. He ought to enjoy their good company and beware of bad company. He should be willing to loose their bad qualities but not his goodness.
Hey man, smile at the world which accuses you and lets you diminish but never follow such world. Let individuality crown your life. It is good even though you remain alone like a moon in the vast sky. You are a decoration to the sky of stars and so let your goodness be a decoration to your human life. It is not the number of stars that count but the moon which is all alone smiling at the world sleeping in ignorance with its bright light in the dark sky.
Who knows when the robber called ‘Death’ knocks the door of your life to grab your soul in his fist? It is then the creator of your body is reminded; it is then you call him for help; it is then you try to meditate on him with all your concentration and attention. But there is no use of repenting at that last hour, for time to seize your life matters to the one who created you on time. Only when you are alive will God help you and protect you. Once you are gone from this earth plane, God just remains as an audience and no more a guide. But he will always be with you. God is like a ‘Teacher’ in the class room; he renders all his possible help while he teaches but once he becomes an examiner in the class, he remains silent as if you are a great stranger to him. Even if he wills to, he doesn’t go against his rules. So is the God who only watches what ever goes on at the last moment and after your death. He cannot help you later. So yearn for His grace and earn your good merits while you live on the earth plane for, you are all alone after your death. Neither your loved ones nor your guides accompany you once you leave your mortal body. Only God can be with you at all times. So start early in the sojourn of your Life and breathe the name of the Lord to remain immortal in His heart. Always meditate on his form and name even while you walk, talk or watch. Let the love for God flow eternally like the blood in your body, like the beat of your heart.
You are alone when you were born and you will be alone after you die; why bother of the world which comes in between and laughs at you and abuses you for your goodness? Do not bother of how the world looks at you but at the same time do not ignore the world. Let the world go topsy turvy, be individualistic in your behaviour. Live in the world but remain like a lotus unaffected by the world of water it lives in. As your piece, do good to the world but do not expect the same in return. If you expect there is no meaning to the service you render.
The Lord is your only company before you were born, during your life and after your death and not the materialistic world. Keep moving on the path of Peace and spread the perfume of your selfless Love to the world and attain Bliss in order not to be reborn.
“Life is not to die; but to realize its worth and to realize not to be lived again and again.”
