Hi! My name is Kalyani and I am a member of telugupeople.com
I live in Birmingham and was in London to attend an interview on 7th july when blasts took place. I just want to share my experience with other members of telugupeople.com.
By the time I reached or half way through London there where huge traffic jams starting from Luton Road. I did not realise what was the matter and it took nearly 2 hours to reach Victoria.
Afer reaching Victoria there was complete chaos in the city. Usually Victoria is very busy, but I was still busy to reach the Tube Station ( I did not yet realise that there were bomb blasts in London).
Then a policeman told me just 2 Tube Stations were blasted hence all the tubes are closed. I was utterly shocked and then I realised I was stuck up as there were no buses to go back to Birmungham and no city buses and no tubes. God! it was the crisis of my life time.... added to that it was raining and I could not even get a cab. The telephone lines were not working. After 5 hours of continous struggle I could get a cab which costed 75 pounds and could reach my friends place at East Ham.
There were thousands of tourists and elderly people who were stranded and no buses to go to airport. The scenario was extremely scary and pitiable. But the Britishers faced the situation in a very brilliant way. I should mention that Britishers are very strong people and nothing really makes them go weak.
I pray for those people who lost their lives in the blasts that their souls should rest in peace.
Anyways I am mjust ending up my experience and thank you for sharing it.
