Today is a special day for Indians where in, the people of prosperity or poverty, happiness or sorrow, amity of enmity equally fill their hearts with joy and enjoy. It is celebrated on a new Moon night when the Moon is not visible. When the night is bedecked with darkness, people hurry to light their houses inside and outside with brightening oil lamps and firecrackers which lighten the whole of India. No wonder the festival is called ‘DIWALI’- a festival of Lights. This is a day which highlights the wicked being defeated by the noble. To celebrate the victory over wicked and demonic qualities, Indians light their houses with oil lamps spreading the light every where. The inner significance is to remove the roots of darkness of ignorance from our hearts and thereby fill them with brightness of Knowledge i.e. to move from illusion to illumination. Happy Diwali to One&All
