How to live our only Life with ease?
- Mrs. sharmila Sanka

Life is not always ‘Laughter Invited For Ever’, but it is full of ups and downs. Being human we have to balance our lives by hook or crook. Life is full of reaction and reflection. If there is an unexpected reaction, there is an anti-action immediately on our part. We don’t know how life treats us in the future. Enjoy presently but beware of future too. Be prepared for anything to take place in life. We often hear people speak- Be nice to people on your way up because you meet them on your way down. Just because you are rich, handsome or beautiful, healthy and energetic and above all you are in a high position, it is not healthy to be proud, to offend some one below you or belittle them. While we are high up in the hierarchy, with pride we elevate our shoulders unbothered of the things and people below us. But when life plays with us, one moment is enough to let us down for ever. Be alike to all; be good to all. Your true benchmark is the way you react to people of any kind. Develop humility in times of prosperity; have dignity in times of poverty. This is a great lesson any one can learn. We should never lose our dignity at any time in our life. It is our only property and fortune amidst all discrepancies. Because we are young, we tend to fly high above with the wings of pride and ego. But we should not forget that one day those wings wither away not letting us walk even, let alone flying high above. Let us be kind to elderly people. As Abraham Joshua said, “When I was young, I admired clever people. Now that I am old, I admire kind people.” As middle age starts taking over young age, we tend to become narrow-minded. We move from optimism towards pessimism. Let me dare to quote some one’s saying in this context. “Middle age is when broadness of the mind and narrowness of the waist change places.” Experience plays a vital role in leading us forward in our lives. Experience makes you talented to recognize and avoid any past mistakes. I don’t say experience comes with age. According to me, experience comes with practice and not merely with age. It helps us learn lessons though hard and helps us reach our goal faster and makes our life easier than before. As we often hear, experience is a hard teacher because she gives you test first, the lesson afterward. Sometimes I wonder as to what life is. Life is full of problems, solutions and resolutions? There is much beyond these. There are better ways to deal with life. We need to live our life easily and happily for being born as human beings. With little effort let us start smiling at life for it to smile back at us no matter how our life is shaped into. Let us not become even a little obstruction for others’ smile or happiness. Put yourself in others’ shoes before your word, action or a reaction. Little patience especially when things go wrong is all we need for a peaceful life. It is said, the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands at the moment of pleasure and happiness but where he stands at the time of turmoil and difficulties. “We can live our life with ease when we make others’ lives easy.”-Sharmila Sanka Written in 2004
