The followimg is an small story to shatter one's ego. 'In Threthayugam, when Lord Rama has decided to conclude his avathara, he has to complete one ritual. The ritual is that he has to give his Ring to one particular Rishi. He called his dearest disciple Anjaneya and gave himt his assignment. The assignment is - Anjeneya has to hand over a ring given by Lord Rama to particular saint. Since Rama's word is like Brahma Vakku, Anjaneya took the ring from Lord Rama to handover the same to that particular saint. Anjaneya has started his mission to find the particular saint to hand over the ring. Days have passed, years have passed and hundreds and millions of yeas have passed, still Anjaneya is not able to find the saint. Since Anjaneya is chiranjeevi, he has no death, he is going on and on in search of the saint, but could not find him. Anjaneya has spent millions of years to accomplish the job given by his Rama but not able to succeed. Since, the job is assigned by none other than Rama, there is no question of tiredness After a great search for millions of years, atlast he finds the particular saint. Anjeneya with great excitment narrates his journey of millions of years to find him, he narrates about the greatness of Lord Rama and his mission. The saint who is in his penace would bother and will not respond to Anjaneya. Anjaneya with anger will use his physical strength to wake up the Saint. The saint (who is thin and weak with long beard) responds to Anjaneya and asks him, what is the matter ? Then Anjaneya presents the ring given by Lord Rama to the siant and again repeats the great of Rama etc. etc. The saint ask's Anjaneya to drop that ring in a nearby well. To this again Anjaneya gets angry and ask's the saint, what are you asking me to do, this is a valuable ring given by Lord Rama, who is a great Avathara Purusha, and you are asking me to drop it in the well so casually without giving it due respect. If you disrespect my Lord Rama, you have to face the consequences. Still the saint asks Anjaneya to go put the same in the well. Reluctuntly Anjaneya will go to the well and finds that there many such rings in the well. As instructed by the Saint Anjaneya drop's the ring, one which is given by Lord Rama and asks the saint about the rings in the well. The saint says, every time when a Yuga Purusha like your Rama concludes his Avathara, it is a ritual that he has to drop his ring in this well. This is a well which accounts the Yugas. You can see how many yuga purshas have come till now, and let me tell you many more Yuga Purushas will come and go in future, like your Rama. Rama may be a great Yuga Purusha and Avathara Purusha to you and your Yugam, but not to the Kala ie. Time. I am Kala Purusha, before me nobody is great. The moral of the story is - before this Kaala (Time) when Rama is nothing, then we can just imagine where we stand. For knowing so little and achieving so little, we feel we are the great and others are afterall and mean. If you can understand this story in its right spirit, you will not see any living being meanly, and try to respect the smallest and poorest living being. *********************
