Tyagaraja is known to every one as a Ramas bhaktha.But all kirithis of his reveale that he is an Advaitha philosopher. Thou he was offered wealth and position by the king ,he rejected wealth by saying 'Nidhi chaala sukhama ,Ramuni sannidhi seva sukhama'. This krithi reveales that he is not attracted by the materialistic pleasures of life .He leaded a simple life then after doing 'Uncha vrithi'. Many of his other krities like 'endaro mahanubhavulu undariki vandanalu' shoes his humbleness.He has not the ego of being a gr8 singer. In this krithi he says 'Manasa vanachara vara suncharamu nilipi mukthi baaguga podagane varu endaro mahanubhavulu'. Here he compares manasu with a monkey and says who can concentrate achieves moksha. This phrase shows his goal towards moksha .They say that music is the shortest way towards moksha.He used music for moksha saadhana. In another krithi we see him saying 'paluka veemi na daivami,parulu navvedi nyayama...............tallidandri bhakthi nosagi rakhshinchiri ....takkinavaraendaru sikshinchiri' These phrases show that tyagaraja is not happy with this world. In another krithi he says 'Raanidi raadu poonidi podu sura asurula kaina'.How gr8 philosophy is this? In another he says 'nara harini nammaka narulanu namminanara janma meederuna'...Shows he believes more in the strength of GOD rather than in the strengh of man. He gives examples like 'kallundaga mokallatho nadachina kaasi yathra cheyavacchuna' In the most famous krithi in kharahara priya he says 'chakkani raja margamundaga sandula doora nemi' and ask people to follow bhakthi margamu which is chakkani raja margamu here to attain moksha. That shows that he used bhakthi margamu to become an advaitha philosopher.He renounced the world in his old age and became a sannyasi. This is a proof that through bhakthi margamu he bacame an Advaitha philosopher thus attaining moksha. The ones I mentined here are just samples of his krithis. There are many more to prove that he is an Advaitha philosopher.
