S.P. Balasubrahmanyam's Show in Bay area on July 11th 2004 in California!

S.P. Sailaja, another erstwhile playback singer in the industry, opened the show with a prayer song “Poojalu chese” from movie “Pooja”. This was followed by the song “Sruti nive gati nive” from the movie “Svati Kiranam” by an upcoming singer Gopika Poornima. The next song was performed by SPB and was welcomed with loud applause and cheers as soon as he sang the opening line. This song was “Sagara sangamame” from the movie “Sagara Sangamam”.

Balu then introduced an upcoming and popular singer Mallikarjun to the stage. He opened with the popular song 'Bham Bham Bhole'. His rendition of the song rivaled the original recording and he accompanied his song with spontaneous dancing. The hall was filled with whistles and claps as he broke into patented Chiranjeevi steps along with the song. Mallikarjun won the praise of the audience with his youthful exuberance and talent.

SPB continued the concert by singing from his vast repertoire of hits over the past several decades. Being an excellent singer, SPB has also acted in several films and his command over the telugu language was evident through out the show. He had the audience spellbound hanging onto every word uttered by him. With every song he would go into an introduction in which he would relate his experiences of working with some of the great legends in the industry. SPB also recounted several humorous experiences. This mix of melodious songs, humor and a glimpse into the telugu film industry was well appreciated by every single person in the hall. The younger generation was learning about the legends and the older generation was reminiscing the golden age of telugu cinema.
