The cultural program that lasted for nearly 4 hours was packed with an assortment of items ranging from mythological to modern day dance numbers and was divided into two parts. While the first part was presented by local talent, the latter was presented by a professional Kuchipudi team from Andhra Pradesh. The local talent beautifully presented three devotional songs and ten dance numbers from contemporary movies, coordinated by Mrs. Padma Mundla, Mrs. Lakshmi Varanasi, Mr. Sunderraj Kanniah, Mrs. Raveerna Patibandla, Mrs. Indira Yeleti, Dr. Sujata Pammi and Mrs. Neelima Katragadda. In addition, there were two items in the program that touched the hearts and penetrated the minds of the audience and made them travel to their Motherland India and to the realms of mythology – they are Bhaarataavani and LavaKusa, coordinated by Dr. Sujata Pammi and Mr. Mohan Devaraju, respectively.
While Bhaarataavani marvelously presented patriotic songs with an ensemble of 25 kids whose ages ranged from 2 to 15, the mythological dance Lava Kusa portrayed the story of the epic Ramayan through Lava and Kusa characters with all professional paraphernalia including the stage appearance of Lord Sri Rama towards the end. It was both an entertaining and emotional journey for the audience to see nearly 70 children enthusiastically presenting one or more items on stage during this first part that lasted for nearly 2 hours. These are the experiences and moments money can’t buy!
