Articles: Development | Townships on Sale - Mr. Sree Charan Abburi

The construction boom in India has been in full swing over the past two years, with private Indian builders taking full advantage of low interest rates and tax incentives which reward salaried employees who buy homes. Now, Asia's construction giants promise to take the country to the next level.
While many of the developers aren't restricting themselves to one or two projects; some are going all out. Sembcorp Engineers and Constructors, another of Singapore's leading infrastructure companies is currently working on eight projects in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. Most of the projects are sprawling, expansive ventures. For example, the Royal Garden City project in Bangalore- which is being developed at a cost of US $ 791 million by a Canadian construction outfit, will have designed transportation and utilities and other infrastructure spread across 20-square kms.
What's also significant is the fact that a number of the townships are being built in collaboration with India's provincial governments. Agencies of four state governments are setting up townships in urban areas in collaboration with South East Asian construction giants.
