On the 29th Evening, a large group of friends and Sri Raghavendra Devotees gathered for a Bhajan session followed by a ‘Pravachan’ in Kannada by Dr.Aralumallige on ‘Dasa Sahitya Parampare’ with special focus on the life, transformation, and divine works of ‘Sri Purandara Dasa’ which was enlightening to all those who gathered there. Sri Purandara dasa composed nearly 4,75,000 Kirtans which also contain ‘Suladis’, ‘Ugabhogas’ and Devaranamas. He systematized the modern Carnatic Music. It is a remarkable achievement in a man’s life and is an unparalleled divine task. His literary works revolve around all aspects of life, ideal goals of life, Hari Bhakti, the key to Salvation. One could see the tears of joy when Dr. Parthasarathy was talking of the ‘Bhakti’ part of ‘Purandara Sahitya’. It was a momentous occasion with very touching moments. The last public lecture of Dr. Parthasarathy in Auckland was on the evening of 31st March at the ‘NZ Thirumurugan Temple’,Ellerslie and the topic was ‘’The Power Of Prayer’. The temple was full of devotees who listened to the lecture with great devotion and attention. He defined firstly the ‘Bhakti’, how to cultivate, how to maintain with stability and consistency. Next he defined ‘Meditation’ and explained briefly how to go about with it. He stressed the need to give about thirty minutes of time daily in every one’s life for meditation that helps in developing concentration, calmness and stress-free mind. He said that Religion is only an organized constitution with immaculate steps by way of doctrines and there is nothing to be skeptical about. This is like the discipline in Army life. They perfectly tune your mind and body. The net result is Bhakti and all other joys in life. The temple authorities thanked him for his illustrious diction and bhakti message and extended an open invitation to the temple to present discourses during his future visits. Dr. Parthasarathy’s visit was publicized in the media by the popular newspapers, India Tribune and Indian Newslink. He was interviewed on the Triangle TV by Smt. Roopa Suchdev on her popular programme, “ Roopa aur Aap “, featuring on Mondays and Thursdays, 8 pm – 8.30 pm. To sum up, Dr.Aralumallige Parthasarathy is to be highly thanked for his noble mission of spreading ‘Dasa Sahitya’, Hari Bhakti and above all bringing out the most valuable and ancient cultural values of INDIA contained in ‘PURANAS’ and ‘UPANISHADS’. His command of the languages both English and Kannada and the grip on the subject, his unique style of relating the ancient values and the modern life style are simply superb. All the devotees are grateful to Dr.Parthasarathy for his inspiring messages, which made a niche in their minds and kindled in many the spiritual values of ancient scriptures. They seek the Lord’s blessings to give long life, health and happiness to him and his family and look forward eagerly for his next visit to New Zealand with more time for enlightening discourses.
