Four killed in separate road mishaps across state Guntur, Dec 13 (INN): Four persons were killed while another seven sustained serious injuries in three separate incidents which occurred in the state on Monday. In the first incident, at 23-year-old youth was killed when the motorcycle he was riding rammed into an iron board on the roadside at Angalakuduru in Guntur district. Police believe that the motorcyclist, identified as Vasu lost control over the bike and dashed into the board. He hailed from Nandulapeta in Tenali. The pillion rider who was left injured has been identified as Anita (22), hailing from Dundupalem in Chundur mandal. Anita's condition is stated to be out of danger.
In another mishap, an Intermediate student was killed after being run over by a speeding train while crossing railway track at Tenali station. According to police, the victim has been identified as Annapureddy Manohar Reddy (17) hailing from Modukuru in Chundur mandal. Reddy was studying in a college at Ponnur mandal. However, police are yet to ascertain if Reddy's death was a suicide or an accident. Tenali police have registered a case.
In yet another incident, two persons killed and six others injured when the lorry in which they were travelling in, collided with a stationary lorry near Thimmapur in Kottur mandal on Hyderabad-Bangalore National Highway -7. According to police, the mishap took place when the commuters who boarded a lorry heading towards Hyderabad from Bangalore hit a stationary lorry on the National Highway. The crash left one person dead on the spot while another, who sustained serious injuries, died at the hospital. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. The police have shifted the bodies to hospital for autopsy. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital in Mahabubnagar. The police have registered a case.
