Suspicious man burns wife, son alive Vijayawada, Dec 31 (INN): The seeds of suspicion drove an inebriated man to lock his wife and son inside a hut and set it on fire, killing the child and leaving his unfortunate better-half in a critical condition at Ramachandrapuram village, Mudinepalli mandal in Krishna district, late on Thursday night. According to Sub-Inspector G Srinivas, Gandam Raghavulu (27) had been suspecting the fidelity of his wife Bujji (25) and had even begun to believe that the child Yesebu (2) was not his biological son. This had led him to resort to become an alcoholic and bitter.
The man, possessed by this suspicion had on Thursday arrived home to his hut in an inebriated state and fight with Bujji. He had locked his wife and son in the hut and locked it from outside. Raghavulu then proceeded to set the hut on fire. Bujji managed to make her way out through the thatched walls of the hut, but not before the flames engulfed her. She however was unable to save her infant who was left charred in the blaze. Bujji was rushed to Gudivada Government Hospital for treatment, where she is said to be in a critical condition. The boy had died on the spot. A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the absconding Raghavulu.
