Aravinda Rao formally named new DGP Hyderabad, Aug 31 (INN): The state government on Tuesday formally announced the appointment of Aravinda Rao as the state's new Director General of Police. The government also reshuffled some senior police officials to ensure the smooth conduct of administrative business in the state.
Provisions and Logistics Director General Umesh Kumar was appointed Director General of Anti Corruption Bureau, in Mr Aravinda Rao's place. The government also gave the nod for the voluntary retirement plea of controversial former DGP and present head of Godavari Valley Development Authority SSP Yadav. T Chatterjee has been named the successor to Mr SSP Yadav as f Godavari Valley Development Authority.
A Shivshankar has been named the new Road Safety Authority Chairman. The government also gave the nod for promotions of 14 Circle Inspectors in the city as Deputy Superintendents of Police and transferred 8 DSPs in the state.
