37 gates lifted in Jurala Mahabubnagar, Sept 4 (INN): Irrigation officials on Saturday lifted 37 gates of the Jurala Project as massive inflows from river Bheema and Narayanpur projects led to the reservoir reaching its capacity. According to irrigation officials, 1.82 lakh cusecs of water was released. The project has been receiving massive inflows since the past week.
Earlier on August 27, the authorities had lifted 45 gates of the project to release almost 1.9 lakh cusecs of water. The authorities lifted the gates to the height of one metre. Officials had alerted people living downstream before lifting the gates.
