Kallol Biswas - The man who knew too much

Hyderabad: The 1991batch IFS official who has transferred out of Anantpur, for alleged collusion with Gali Janardhan Reddy, has remained out of office, is on leave till now since December 2009 and has not reported to work at Warangal as Forest Geneticist.

So much so that his seniors and colleagues in the Forest Department at Hyderabad say that Kallol had not turned up to collect even his pay. 'Biswas has proceeded on leave without official sanction and hence his pay is held back. Surprisingly he has also not approached us for his salary payment 'said a spokesman of the department.

Kallol Biswas was DFO of Anantapur for a long six years almost since the Bellary Reddys entered into iron ore mining in full swing after they bought the OMC for a consideration of just Rs. Five crore and later with the support of their benefactor in AP - YSR procured more mining leases in the district.

The former Anantapur District Forest Officer Kallol Biswas who has come under shadow of OMC illegal mining, has finally opened his mouth to expose the nexus between the YSR government and the Gali Janardhana Reddy enterprises in Andhra Pradesh.

Contending that he had gone underground due to the threat to his life from gangsters belonging to accused mining don and former minister in Karnataka State, Gali Jamardhan Reddy. Kallol Biswas said all the senior IAS officials who did the bidding of late YSR were now in deep trouble.

Speaking to a Telugu TV Channel, Bisawas said that there were several unknown things happening in the mines of OMC both in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and that former CM YSR had stalled the survey of mines by the Survey of India as well and also written to the centre opposing such a move.

He said during his probe into the illegal mining operations of OMC it was revealed that the RR Global had taken a sublease from OMC for mining which was illegally permitted by the then mining department head. The then forest vigilance officer Sammi Reddy had threatened Kallol Biswas and also humiliated him for negating the CM's orders.

Kallol Biswas said ever since he was made witness no- 1 by the CBI, the gang had been harassing him and also hoisted SC/ST case. Among many things Kallol confirmed were:

CEC report on OMC to the Supreme Court
Wiping out the border stones of both the state by OMC
YSR personally brought pressure on the Mahabaleswarappa & Co.
An officer by name Jayaram cooperated with Gali permits
Lease in name of Anantapuram Mining Co. but no activity.

Further Biswas exuded confidence that he knows everything and has turned to be a star witness.
