Get ready for civic polls, CM tells officials Hyderabad, Jan 27 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday asked officials to make all preparations for the soon-to-be-held municipal elections. He also asked them to finalise the staffing pattern of the newly constituted Municipalities within three days.
Kiran Kumar Reddy held a detailed review meeting on the progress of the urban infrastructure developmental activities with Minister for Municipal Administration M Maheedhar Reddy and officials at Secretariat.
The officials present were Principal Secretaries, MA &UD, B. Sam Bob and Dr. Vijayakumar, Principal Secretary, Finance, V Bhasker, Secretary, Finance, Premchandra Reddy, Engineer-in-Chief, Public Health, Dr P Panduranga Rao and MD, HMWS&SB, Adhar Sinha.
The Chief Minister directed that all pending JNNURM works relating to underground drainage, storm water drains and drinking water schemes should be completed by the end of March, 2012. Kiran Kumar Reddy also directed the Finance Department to lift the freezing of Municipal funds in a phased manner.
The Chief Minister directed the HMWSSB to speed up the Godavari and Krishna water to city schemes and complete them fast. In addition to the piped water supply about 27 MGD of ground water was also being drawn by the consumers in the water supply service areas of HMWSSB.
