Tirupati Cong candidate is a land-grabber: Naidu Tirupati: After levelling land grabbing charges against Congress Party candidate Venkata Ramana, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu went to the disputed site at Padmavathipuram in Tiruchanur and enquired about the land encroachment with the former sarpanch.
In fact, Naidu not only levelled allegations against Ramana, but also managed to get all the required documents regarding particular site through Right to Information Act (RTI).
After completing his one-day election tour on Saturday, he made a night halt at Tirupati and went to the disputed land site in Tiruchanur and warned the land grabbers and appealed to the people to be careful about such illegal and unlawful activities.
Speaking to the media persons, he alleged that Congress candidate Venkat Ramana, who was also a legislator for one term from 2004 to 2009, is a land grabber and by misusing his power, he managed to encroach hundreds of acres of lands in and around Tirupati city by threatening many hapless people.
Venkata Ramana encroached about 1.90 acres of 'inam' land in Obulavarikunta near Srinivasapuram (survey No. 241-3), he alleged. He also grabbed 18 acres of land opposite Urban Hut in Tirupati and hundreds of acres of land in Tiruchanur, Naidu said.
YSRCP candidate Bhumana Karunakar Reddy also encroached more than 4.5 acres of land in Padmavathipuram by misusing his power, Naidu flayed.
The Congress leaders were able to get 'no objection certificates' from the officials concerned though there were land disputes, and registering them on their names, subsequently, selling to a third party with political power, he alleged.
All these encroached lands, which were registered after 2004, would be recovered if the Telugu Desam Party comes back to power, he said.
Action will be taken against all those, who were involved in the land grabbing, he added. If people vote for those candidates who have a dubious record, they would take them for a ride, he warned.
The Congress and the YSRCP candidates are trying to distribute thousands of rupees per each vote to win the by-poll, he alleged.
