No Congress leader allowed in T villages: JAC ADILABAD: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) will organise several protest programmes in the villages of this district from July 4, preventing the Congress leaders to take up campaigns in the rural areas for the local body elections, its chairman prof. Kodandaram has said.
The TJAC chairman, who inaugurated a JAC office in Mancherial town in Adilabad district on Wednesday, announced this at a meeting with the district JAC leaders.
The TJAC will not allow the Congress people's representatives from the region to enter the villages for taking up poll campaigns or taking part in any developmental programme, he said, adding that the people Telangana do not want any special developmental package but statehood for the region.
He demanded that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by the Congress must clear their stand on Telangana at the earliest. The electoral fortune of the Congress will suffer in the 2014 general elections if statehood is not granted to Telangana, Kodandaram added.
