Sri Divya condemns rumors
Recently when a small time actor Ajay was caught for drunken driving, many mistook him for Ajay who played villain in Rajamouli's 'Vikramarkudu' and also hero in a couple of movies.
Even a channel has gone a bit further and showed his photos instead of the actual accused. Later, Ajay issued press note by explaining clarification. Once again media enthusiasm created headaches for a cute telugu heroine,
Recently a small time Telugu actress Divya Sri was arrested over prostitution allegations. She is not a familiar face and many are not aware of her identity in the industry. This created confusion in the media too as some web portals published their news reports with the photos of other actress.
It was another actress Sri Divya, who was in the receiving end for the goofup made by some news sites. Many were confused because we have one Telugu actress by name Sri Divya of 'Mallela Teeramlo Sirimalle Chettu' and 'Bus Stop' fame who of late has become very popular in Kollywood.
The actress was initially shocked but realised that media mistook her for Divya Sri. Hence, she has released a press release to clarify. Find below what she has said in her note.
"This is a humble request on behalf of actress Sri Divya. Before few days, a Telugu actress named Divya Sri was arrested in accordance to allegations of prostitution. However, some of the media channels, especially few online portals, mistook Sri Divya for Divya Sri and published her pictures in the news as well. Therefore, we humbly request you to avoid such confusions in the near future."
Sri Divya is known for her acting in Manasara and Bus Stop movies.She moved to Kollywood after running with lack of offers in telugu and proved her mettle in Tamil Industry.
Media should me more responsible while reporting these type of sensitive issues.It is because they have similar names with a very little difference. Namesake woes!
