Soft Bank to set up 20GW solar power plant in AP Hyderabad, July 7 (INN): Following a meeting with Soft Bank founder and CEO Masayoshi Son in Hyderabad on June 23rd, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu once again held a meeting with Son along with executives from JBIC.
Son informed the Chief Minister that Soft Bank will manufacture solar panels under the prestigious 'Make in India' initiative and set up their manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh. 'We are ready to set up a 20 GW solar power plant in your state,' he added.
Soft Bank has also come forward to sponsor scholarships to engineering students who are willing to specialize in solar power engineering. Son said that he will make a personal donation to the proposed 'Renewable Energy University' in Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Raman Nanda, Advisor, Shigeki Miwa, GM CEO/COO Office and other executives were present.
