2000 women excise constables soon: Mopidevi Guntur, April 10 (INN): Prohibition and Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao on Sunday stated that the Excise Department will soon recruit 2,000 women for the vacant constables posts soon.
Talking to media persons while participating in a programme in Guntur district, the Excise Minister stated that the department has decided to appoint women constables for the 2,000 posts soon. Mr Venkata Ramana Rao said the notification for the recruitments would be issued soon after discussing with the officials concerned.
He said the Finance Department has already given the green signal for the filling up of the constable posts. 'Once the department gets official confirmation from Finance Ministry, the Excise Department will issue a notification for filling up of the constable posts,' Mr Venkata Ramana Rao stated.
The Minister also made it clear there was no question of regularizing belt shops and the officials would initiate action against them as per the statutory laws.
Reacting on unlicensed bars and belt shops forming a syndicate and selling all varieties of liquor at price higher than listed, the Minister said that he has already directed his officials to take stringent action against the violators.
