CTA celebrates Diwali in Chicago Chicago, USA - November 16, 2015 : Chicago Telugu Association celebrated Diwali in a grand way at Eola Community Centre in Chicago. Large number of Telugu families gathered to celebrate Diwali in traditional manner with lots of fun and entertainment.
Program started off with lord Ganesha prayer and followed by welcome address by CTA President Nagendra Vege. He explained the objectives and various programs conducted by CTA during last 6 months. Nagendra Vege explained the importance of Diwali in Indian Culture as the triumph of good over evil.
Young kids performed traditional Kuchipudi dance depicting Indian culture with joyous moments. Diwali Event was attended by about 250 telugu people for unmatched entertainment.
Several games were conducted for adults and kids. Several games around Telugu Culture, Language and Culture was instant hit with audience and participated very enthusiastically by all. Delicious Telugu authentic food was served by food committee and Mahila committee.
Mahila committee members including Sujana Achanta, Rani Vege, Lohitha, Havela Devarapalli, Bindu Balineni, Karishma Pilla has successfully organized this event.
Subba Rao, Secretary of CTA thanked all participants including NATS President Ravi Achanta for attending the event. Madan Pamulapati conducted vote of thanks and thanked all volunteers including Prithvi Chalasani, Manohar Pamulapati, Srini Boppana, Murthy Koppaka, Mahesh Kakarala, Murali Kalagara, Ramesh Maryala and many others inhelping coordinate this event.
