Prof Reddy assumes charge as interim SKU VC Anantapur, Oct 23 (INN): In charge Vice-Chancellor of Sri Krishnadevaraya University Ramachandra Reddy on Saturday stated that the government would initiate probe into alleged irregularities that took place during the tenure of Vice-Chancellor Prof Kusuma Kumari. Talking to media persons after handing over the government orders to former Vice-Chancellor Prof Kusuma Kumari, Prof Ramachandra Reddy revealed that a legal team has been appointed to probe irregularities alleged against Prof Kusuma Kumari.
The University would follow the recommendations of legal advisors in the appointments that took place during the tenure of Prof Kusuma Kumari and initiate action against anyone found guilty of any wrong doing, Prof Reddy said. The Interim VC stated that his top priority was to put varsity affairs in order and streamline the administration for smooth passage of academic year.
Prof Reddy assured that the university would initiate disciplinary action against teaching and non-teaching staff, who violate rules and regulations. He said the university would set up an Academic Council to streamline the administration. Meanwhile students' organizations in the university staged a dharna in front of in charge VC's chamber demanding cancellation of all appointments made during the Prof Kusuma Kumari tenure as VC. The State government had on Friday issued fresh orders removing Prof Kusuma Kumari as the SKU VC with immediate effect. She had earlier been removed from the post in August but her sacking was put on hold by the State High Court.
