BJP demands Collector's apology Karimnagar, December 7: BJP demands district collector GD Aruna to tender public aplogy for participating in the Pranahita Pushkarams pooja by wearing foot wear at Kaleshwaram on Monday. BJP town president Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded that the district collector Aruna should tender apology for hurting thousands of Hindu devotees during the Pranahita Pushkarams inauguration function at Kaleshwaram yesterday. He released photographs of district collector Aruna who participated in Pushkaram rituals by wearing foot wear.
Speaking to media persons at R & B guest house here, he said, sacred Pushkaram which comes on every 12 years. During 12 day festivities Hindu devotees observe high holiness. However, district collector showing utter disregard to hindu religious sentimentsin wore foot wear and participated in the rituals in the presence of civil supplies minister D Sridharbabu, it was unfortunate he said. He alleged that, instead of being a secular officer she has been behaving as non-secular collector. If she continue observing such kind of partialities between religions BJP will launch massive protests against the collector, he warned. Aruna has been deliberately avoiding some programmes conducted during Hindu festivals like Vinayaka Chaturti. This would send wrong message to the society, BJP leader said.
