Leave T fight to leaders, withdraw strike: Saraiah Warangal, August 9 (INN): Stating that the responsibility of achieving separate Telangana statehood lies with the leaders Backward Classes Welfare Minister Basavaraju Saraiah on Tuesday called upon Telangana employees to withdraw their general strike called on August 17.
Mr Saraiah told media persons here that the employees' strike has been called to press for the introduction of a separate Telangana Bill in Parliament. 'The employees should bear in mind that they should not cause any inconvenience to the people by participating in the strikes and agitations,' Mr Saraiah said.
Asking the employees to reconsider their decision to launch the general strike, the Minister stated that leaders from Telangana and elected representatives would continue their agitations for achieving statehood.
Reacting to TNGOs president Swamy Goud's comments that the elected representatives should resubmit their resignations for the cause of Telangana, Mr Saraiah said that the employees' leader has no moral right to seek his resignation in support of employees' strike.
The Minister added that the Congress leaders from Telangana know when to submit resignation from their elected posts for the statehood. The Minister also disclosed that the state government has released Rs 60 crore for the construction of a Road Over Bridge in Warangal town. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is expected to lay the foundation stone for the ROB next month.
