Roll back hike in petrol prices: CPI Visakhapatnam, Sept 16 (INN): Communist Party of India state general secretary K Narayana on Friday slammed the Centre for increasing petrol prices.
Talking to media persons after launching padayatra from Alluri Sitamaraju Statue at Sitammadhara to Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation office, Narayana said that the increase in petrol price would put additional burden on the common people, who were already hit by rise in the prices of essential commodities.
He said that the increase in petrol prices would make the life of poor and downtrodden miserable. Demanding that the Centre roll back the hike immediately, he said that the party would intensify its agitation until the Centre revokes its decision.
Slamming the Centre for failing to bring back black money, Narayana said that the Prime minister has become a mute spectator despite involvement of several ministers and officials in various scams and corruption. He said the CPI's padayatra was aimed at creating awareness among people against corruption.
