Errabelli's house attacked Warangal: Members of the district bar association and advocates joint action committee raided the residence of Telangana Telugu Desam Forum (TTDF) convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao here on Friday and staged protests.
A large group of advocates gave a skip to the police and rushed towards the TDP leaders' residence and force opened the main gates and entered the premises. Some staged demonstration outside the gate while some squatted inside the house demanding the Telugu Desam Party's stance on the issue of Telangana.
Some advocates suffered minor injuries in a melee that took place between advocates and the police as the latter tried to prevent the protestors from entering the house. However, the advocates managed to get into the TDP leader's residence.
The window panes of the house were damaged in the advocates attack. The protestors also pulled down the TDP flags while demanding the party chief N Chandrababu Naidu to clear his stand on the Telangana issue.
They accused Mr Dayakar Rao and Mr Naidu of misguiding Telangana people on the issue of statehood and advised the forum convener to take part in Telangana movement only after making the party's stance clear.
Later, the police arrested the agitating advocates and took them to Subedari police station. Earlier, the advocates were arrested by the police for their attack on district educational office near Adalat area on Thursday and for damaging portrait of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Advocates strongly condemned their detention by the police in the mid-night.
'Police is treating us like terrorists by arresting us in the mid-night. This reveals the fascist attitude of Kiran Kumar Reddy's government,' complained an advocate Lalitha Kumari.
Later, the advocates were produced before a local court where they were released on bail. The advocates also staged a demonstration at the court protesting against the arrests.
