CM reviews Vijayawada civic issues with Minister and MLAs Hyderabad, April 10 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday assured to solve all pending problems of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation areas at a meeting with the Minister, MP, MLAs, public representatives and senior officials at the State Secretariat.
Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy, Lok Sabha member Lagadapati Rajgopal, former minister Devineni Nehru, MLAs Malladi Vishnu, V Srinivasa Rao, Yalamanchili Ravi, MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah and senior officials attended the meeting.
The Minister, MP, MLAs and other leaders brought to the notice of the Chief Minister the pending issues of the area like funds requirement for the work already completed under JNNURM.
Restoration of Roads damaged due to sewerage works, release of State Government share due to cost enhancement in the housing scheme, acquiring of Gollapudi land under 60:40 ratio for left over JNNURM/RAY (Rajiv Awaaz Yojana), Housing--escalation cost of ULB share from the A.P. State Housing Corporation under Urban Indiramma etc.
The Chief Minister directed the finance department to release the urgently required funds for the completed works after due inspection and also to initiate action to acquire the Gollapudi land under 60:40 ratio which will help the farmers as well as the Government.
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner G Ravi Babu said that due to paucity of funds under JNNRUM, new proposals were made in the three constituencies for restoration of roads to a total length of 46.90 kms wherein the Under Ground Drainage and Water Supply lines are laid and the roads were badly damaged. These works were not taken up due to non availability of funds under JNNURM.
The Public representatives requested the Chief Minister to release Rs.25.40 crores to Vijayawada Municipal Corporation as a special grant for taking up and early completion of restoration of remaining roads. The Chief Minister assured to release the urgently required funds.
