AP to come up with new water policy: CBN Dornala, May 15:The Andhra Pradesh State Government will come out with a comprehensive water policy to make the best use of available water resources, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday.
Chandrababu Naidu reviewing the progress of the Rs. 5,150 crore project at Veligonda in Pedda Dornala of Prakasam district, he announced amid cheers that the first phase of the project.
Due to the negligence of the previous Congress government unable to complete the project in time and it would be completed by September 2016 said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Chadrababu Naidu said: 'I will sleep by the side of irrigation projects and see that all ongoing irrigation projects are completed early by holding periodic review meetings and fixing specific target for officials.'
The objective of the AP new water policy was linking major rivers, including Krishna, Godavari, Thungabhadra, Vamsadhara, Nagavalli and Penna, to divert the surplus water to parched lands in Prakasam district and the Rayalaseema region, he added.
