Prakasam ZP General body meeting heated
Ongole, December 9. The general body meeting of Prakasam ZP was held in Ongole ZP meeting hall on Thursday. The meeting starting with review on Irrigation department, The YSR Congress MLAs Mr Gottipati Ravi, Mr M. Ashok Reddy, Mr G. Venkata Reddy and Mr P. David Raju blamed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for delay in completion of Veligonda and Gundlakamma project works.
Participating in discussion he said that while Rs. 300 crore is required to complete the project, the government has allotted Rs. 75 crore for the same. Mr Ashok Reddy demanded all-party delegation to meet Mr Chandrababu Naidu to discuss about Veligonda and Gundlakamma projects.
MLA Damacharla Janardhan said he is ready for an all-party delegation to meet the CM over the irrigation projects. He assured that the governemt will complete the Veligonda Project by December 2016. The government will complete the Gundlakamma soon. The government has committed for the farmers welfare and complete the irrigation projects within the stipulated time.
Project chief engineer Murthy said that the government has to allot Rs. 3,674 crore for the execution of Veligonda Project works. Stating that the project recently got clearnace from he forest department.
Mr Gottipati Ravikumar alleged that irregularities in the allotment of lands to the project displace. Responding to his allegation, district collector G.S.R.K.R. Vijay Kumar directed the vigilance officials to conduct a probe into house sites allotments. He asked district collector to remove the belt shops on highways causing accidents.
Meanwhile, Mr A. Suresh expressed his ire over minister Sidda Raghava Rao for not attending the meeting despite it was held after three months. MLA Damacharla Janardhan said the minister went to Penukonda to console the bus accident victims.
Later, the meeting passed a resolution to construct a new building complex for ZP office at a cost of Rs.8 crore. MLAs P. Rama Rao, MLC Yandapalli Srinivasulu Reddy, ZP CEO A. Prasad were present.
