Director Neelakanta's latest film Maaya falls in second category. Even though it was proved as commercial flop it won the hearts of many film lovers.
Maaya is not a routine commercial subject and many interesting facts have been linked to this flick. Maaya is made based on a concept of 'Extra Sensory Perception' (ESP) which means a supposed faculty of perceiving things by means other than our known senses, eg by telepathy or sixth sense.

The ace Bollywood filmmaker had watched the special screening of Maaya in Hyderabad along with his elder brother Mukesh Bhatt and nephew Vishesh Bhatt.
They had lauded Neelakanta for the concept and his making abilities. Everybody thought someone from Bhatt camp would direct Maaya Hindi remake. But surprisingly, they have decided only to produce the movie and are giving direction chance to Neelakanta.
