Linga makers asked to deposit 10 Cr in court Rajinikanth's Lingaa is set for a worldwide theatrical release tomorrow (Dec 12) on the eve of Rajini's birthday. The action entertainer will have Rajinikanth in dual roles. Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty played the female leads.
The film will be releasing in more than 2000 theatres and expected to rewrite all records. The collaboration of Rajini and KS Ravikumar has raised the expectations from "Lingaa" as the actor-director duo has given blockbuster films like "Muthu" and Narasimha in the past.
After Robo, this is the biggest film for Rajini, releasing in over 2000 screens across the world. It remains to be seen if "Lingaa" will be able to perform better than "Endhiran.'. Wait for new records from Rajini.
Meanwhile the film is facing last minute legal headaches. Madurai bench of Madras High Court has asked the producer of 'Lingaa' to deposit Rs.10 crore before 12 noon on Friday with the registrar of the Madurai bench.
The decision came after a petitioner K R Ravi Rathinam claims his story 'Mullai Vanam 999' is actually the story of 'Lingaa'.
