GHMC chief interacts with morning walkers Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy has visited different parks and interacted with morning walkers on the status of facilities being provide there.
The Commissioner on Wednesday visited Indira Park and interacted with the Walkers' Association members and other senior citizens to learn about the problems being faced by them. He also received suggestions on resolving those problems. It may be mentioned that the GHMC chief had earlier inspected facilities in Jalagam Vengal Rao Park at Banjara Hills and Krishnakanth Park at Yousufguda.
During the morning visits to the parks, the Commissioner observed that there was no proper coordination among the heads of the departments which led to several problems like non-glowing of street lights, poor maintenance of parks, improper sanitation, entomology, water works, sports facilities, providing of toilets, etc., He directed the officials to sort out the issues on priority basis for the convenience of the citizens.
The Commissioner said that the GHMC is planning to fix up the responsibility to take up maintenance works of the parks duly involving the residential welfare associations. The GHMC is also planning to install CCTV cameras in all the parks to curb anti-social elements.
Zonal Commissioner (Central Zone) Gourav Uppal, Additional Commissioner (Urban Biodiversity) Shiva Kumar Naidu and senior officials of the GHMC have participated in the visit.
