Health Camp conducted at Guruvaayoorappan Termple Morganville, New Jersey, USA: Hindu American Temple & Cultural Center (HATCC) in association with St. Peter's University Hospital has successfully organized a free Health Fair on Saturday, June 06, 2015 from 12.00 noon to 4.00 pm at Sri Guruvaayoorappan Temple, 31 Wooleytown Road, Morganville, NJ 07751, Srinivas Ganagoni, Trustee and Chair, Publicity, said in a press release.
More than 500 people participated during the fair and over 24 services offered during the fair. The Specialists from St. Peter's Hospital and their ancillary came and offered their expert services for FREE at our temple premises.
Dr.Yegnasubramanian, Chairman of HATCC, says, we are very happy to see such an overwhelming response for the first Mega Health fair conducted at our temple premises. Tabiri Chukunta, Executive Director of Community Outreach & Diversity from St. Peter's Healthcare System announced that St. Peter's Hospital will make this as an annual event and work with the temple to serve the community.
Upendra Chivukula, NJ State Commissioner graced the occasion and thanked both Sri Guruvaayoorappan Temple committee and St. Peter's Healthcare System team for putting together a nice health fair that benefits the community at large.
We have witnessed long lines at the Blood Sugar, Eye screening and EKG, and Cholesterol tests. Due to overwhelming response we have to turn down many people back since the appointments went beyond the designated time.. We are willing to increase the number of hours and more stations in the future events to cater more people.
The services offered includes Nutrition and Healthy Living, Prescription Safety, Children Asthma, Gastro- Intestinal Specialists, Geriatric and Memory Loss, Prostate Information, Stroke Information, Diabetes Education, Thyroid and Hormonal health, Autism Information, Ask the Doctor, Ask the Pharmacist and many more. There is a representation from FIRE and POLICE department and demonstrated the fire safety tips and also car seat safety to the attendees.
HATCC Cultural Committee put together a magnificent programs entertained the audience throughout the fair hours.
